Summary
Distiller: Undisclosed blend
Bottler: Bardstown Bourbon Company
ABV: 57.5
Age: 10+ years
Nose: Stone fruit, butterscotch, allspice
Taste: pepper, pecan, black tea
Finish: oak, nuts (hazelnut?), chocolate
Overall: This is a very nice pour. The nose offers sweet notes, which eventually expand out into vanilla cream after a long rest. The sweetness vanishes completely once you take a sip, however. The palate and finish are all very wood forward and somewhat dry, with lots of nuts and only hints of sweetness. There is some vanilla present along the whole ride, but it’s definitely not the star of the show. All in all this is a nice whiskey and has some great notes, but I don’t know if it’s worth it at the price.
